Default Removing Wires from Connector

Anyone got any tips on removing the pins from an electrical connector? I am taking out the wiring in the interior that I don't need. It looks like there is a tiny clip or something holding each pin into the connector. I have tried a paper clip with not much luck. Any suggestions, is there a tool out there that will help with this?

Paper clip should work. Put it on piece of metal and hammer it so it is flat. Also when doing push pin slightly forward, stick pin in and than pull.

There is usually a plastic piece on the back you will need to pop off. Then I use a sewing pin, into the front and there is a piece of plastic you need to push up or down. It's always a pain.

Agreed. No matter how you try to go about it you will get pissed and frustrated and it will take forever, lol. At least that's my experience with it. Different connectors take different style pins and they all clip in/release differently, but the theory is the same. Either the pin on the end of the wire has a metal tab that you have to press in to free it from the clip, or the clip has a plastic tab that you press to free the pin from the clip. I find that a bright table lamp and magnifying glass help if you can get the connector to a tabletop. I use a sewing needle as well. They do make tools that help you do this, but they are usually expensive. A sewing needle and a few anger-filled minutes usually does the trick.

I filed down a couple of tiny hex allen wrenches so they were flat. I'm not sure with the S2000 in particular, but some of those pins have the retaining tabs on both sides.

I was successful last night removing the pins from two different connectors. I ended up using a sewing needle to release the pins. I had a friend help me pull on the pins while I released them. One of the connectors I had to separate the back half of it because it was holding the top of the pins in. Thanks for help, it was a pain in the ass at first but once I got the first one out it was relatively easy.
