Default Pin Removal

I've been monkeying with this thing for an hour. What's the best way to push the pin out of the harness? I've got the plastic housing apart and i'm trying to push the metal pin that's connected to the black and white wire out of the gray plastic piece. The screw driver doesn't seem to do anything but bend the metal. Is there a trick or something I'm missing?

No answer for you, but why not just snip the wire? If you give yourself enough length at both ends, you can always re-connect it if you so chose later.

Well, I'd like to avoid cutting any wires so I can undo it if I need to without anyone being the wiser. Plus cut wires look terrible and unfinished.

If you look inside the plastic connector itself, you'll see there's a hangnail off of the brass collar inside the connector. It's a matter of puhing the hangnail in(sometimes your provided a small hole to push it) and just wiggling it out.

I cut the wire placed a cheap Radio Shack switch in the middle. If I want it to work again I just need to reach under an flip the switch. I know I didn't have to but I'm an electronics tech and I hate leaving loose wires, I was also testing out my Cold Heat soldering tool.
