Damage is 95% just door & fender. The lower door hinge mounting location is slightly depressed but not enough to make it worth doing anything about on a race car. The new door just opens a little more stiffly now. Surprisingly the washer bottle still holds water and is 1/2 full.

On a side note, the new door is off of an 04, it has an different coupler on the door electrical harness (2 extra pinouts) but the same number of wires so we are moving the old coupler onto the new door.

Jeremy, I was wondering how the rules for GP compare to T2 when it comes to lightening up the car. I see my friend Kent Prather was pulling 1:40s in his forty year old MGA ('05 version for sure). I reallize he builds the best MGA race engine in country and it's on limit at the runoffs. This was his 4th or 5th national championship in that car. But my point is how much he has lightened it up. When I have inspected his car in the past I can see where he has drilled or removed everything, such as hood bracing and the like. Is that an option in T2? Or, are you restricted from that?

i'll throw in a reply here since i guess i saw it before jeremy...if you're talking production..as opposed to GT..just making sure it wasn't a typo..Both of those classes are allowed extensive mods...all T classes are basically showroom stock with very few mods allowed.

www.scca.org for extensive rules

ya you cant reallly do any really high performance modifications
drivers seat
roll cage
5 pt harness
cat back exhaust
air filter
stock sized wheels
dot approved tires

there are more rules but that pretty much shows the basics. it's a near stock class
we have to meet mininum weight of 2830w/2.0L and 2860w/2.2L
