In the December Sportscar, page 16,
"The Club Racing Board has proposed that, effective Dec. 1, the Touring 3 class be given National Status. The class applies the Touring rules to cars such as the Audi TT, Cobalt SS, Lexus IS300, Mazda RX-8 and Subaru WRX. The CRB also notes it intends to merge SSB into T3 and move SSC to T4, both effective for the 2007 season."
Sounds like it is really close!

sweet..i haven't read Dec Sportscar yet..sounds real good though since the RX8 is the only slower car than the S in T2 and it made the move...regular wrx is probably pretty slow too since the sti isn't too much faster than the S (on the track). Cool!!!

Hopefully there will be some BOD T3 news by the end of the week.

I finally read Swan's brutely honest recap of his S2000 season in the C&D December issue. Having read the SCCA site results, your accounts and watching the Speed show I knew how the story ended! Anyone with even the slightest interest knows the car doesn't stand a chance against the big dogs but you have to love Tony's candor with lines like "I'm so slow they could time me with a calendar."
Jeremy, I can imagine what a big disappointment it must be to know that once again the S2000 will be racing out of it's element in '06. Given how many wonderful sports cars there are to choice from these days one might think the SCCA would have half-a-dozen classes. Maybe I'm all wet but I would think that with more classes comes more opportunities to be competitive and in turn more competitors. It's clear the S2000s situation is falling on deft ears.
On the other hand you have to admire what a rocket the Subaru has been right out of the box. On paper you would think the CTS-V would be the killer car, especially at a larger track like Mid-Ohio.
Merry Christmas to all the S2000 racers who carry the torch for the car we love so much. May your logbook for '06 be filled with victories.
