How do you disconect the lines going into the firewall without hurting them, theres a plastic cover or coupler where they enter. The rest of the system is a snap.

You have to pull the plastic cover away from the firewall. There should be a 12mm bolt holding both of those lines in. Here's a pic.

Owe, one last question, when removing the AC compressor, drop it from the bottom or remove from top?

^ No need to do that. While the compressor is removed, it should stay wedged in there. Work from the top and turn it so that you can remove the wires attached to it. Then remove the bracket for the compressor. The compressor will then slide right out the bottom. A word of caution, some of the bolts will be hard to get to. You will need a 12mm/14mm offset box wrench for sure. There were a couple times where I was unable to fit a socket in there, so I had to do it the old fashioned way and keep loosening the bolt with a box wrench until it was loose enough that I could use a flex-drive. You will be shocked at how much weight it removes. One of my floor jacks wouldn't fit under the side jacking point. Now that the A/C compressor/lines are removed, it fits. It's also a good solution to keeping a near 50/50 weight distribution if you gut the trunk and use a lightweight exhaust. My next step will be relocating the battery to the trunk. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Very cool, I will get exact weights as I remove the AC, the CC unit w/cables ect was 3.6#, front bumper support w/bolts 11.7#'s.

and how much weight is that gonna add from all the heavy guage wire you'll have to add to move the battery to the trunk? if you're just wanting to relocate it and you're THAT worried about weight, why not just put it under the passenger seat? would sit lower than it would in the trunk and use even less heavy wire.
