wow.... you guys are apes. we were on 255 RA1s (NOT SLICKS). Probably the skinniest tires in the 4WD class. Not only that, it was a full street car. No interior missing, sunroof, front and rear bumper beams. Zero weight reduction.

Its surprising you guys feel the need to bash other peoples cars.

Like I said before, I can't wait to see one of your S2000s with my near stock evo at a track day. Should be fun.
Not bashing the evo =) I considered buying one myself.

Just my observations of Vishnu at AT2.

I think the translators had a bad time translating...the GTR and the Vishnu was basically banned for the 'treadless' tire.

I was also upset why the XS made it to the finals after being 'banned'.

Which track events do you usually go to?

What data logging system are you using?

We were not banned, we made it through to the finals because we DIDN'T have slicks, but XS complained that their slicks were DOT legal (and they were), so they got to come back.

HPDE events.

EDIT: Full story, the GTR won the AWD class (basically cause it was a great car and was fast). But we won the "special award" for having a great car etc. The crowd said they didn't want slicks after a vote, so the GTR was taken out of the finals, and our car was put in place. However, XS complained about the tires being legal, and were allowed back last minute.

There was tread wear on it, it was a customer car that was used, however they weren't so low to be slicks or anything, nor are RA1s considered to be slick compound.

Basically the organizers wanted the event to be street tires by saying "no hoosiers", but they didn't realize that hankook slicks et al are technically road legal in the US.

Tell me more about speedventures...

www.speedventures.net

They do a lot of track events in the socal/norcal area. Pretty organised and fun to drive with.

I usually just grab maxrev for pointers =)

Ruchmate: Vishnu is local to me and I think they do great work.

Just my opinion. I have respect for Vishnu as they did really well at One Lap of America. (I think) Also, a tuned $$ Evo on R comps will kill most S2000s out there.

However, mod to mod to my S2000, I have a good chance of beating the Evo.

Mod for mod, i'm not so sure about that. I'm being objective since i plan to be an S2000 owner, i've driven them etc.

Starting with an S2000 and say an Evo 9, add suspension to both, tire to both, exhausts to both and a flash to Evo, and an intake or whatever other minor stuff to the S2k. I'm pretty sure the Evo will take it. Again not saying it as a confrontational thing.

As for Vishnu being local and I think they do great work. Well I guess you could put it that way since they are local and do great work.... But I firmly believe they are the best, I've seen first hand other Evos with other tuning philosophies and its just not as good.
