is it not to late to register? I thought augest 10th was the last date? ok let me see how much funds I have in the back account since I won't be working much when school starts. Those are good dates for me as I will need those 3 days away since by that time I will be sick of UNLV and ready to transfer out.

To clarify the "deadline" of 8/10: that was just the day they opened up registration to anyone -- before the 10th, they were holding the class for ONLY s2ki people.

So, you're free to register as long as spots are open! Come on, folks, let's keep this an s2ki event!

I know at least two people who will be tossing their S02's and going to full race compound tires for next year's S2000 Challenge The competition next year is going to be insane!

I just registered, and I might change to race tires also.

Richard,

I'm glad you're making it . That makes 7 S2K owners - should be a blast. As far as the race tires go, I drove Cthree's car at Willow Springs a couple of weeks ago. Two of the differences between our cars are that he has the AEM (I think) CAI and race tires. It felt like driving a different car. I'm definitely going to race tires and getting a CAI in the near future.

Strike,

If I switch to racing tires and therefore move up a class (I believe it's Mod-R), then I would likely also modify to the maximum allowed 80 points (would definitely include a CAI). If I do it I might as well go all the way.

After taking a second look at the allowed modifications for Mod-R, I'd probably just do tires and CAI also. The rest seem costly relative to what they would do for reducing lap times.

After this race-school it will be interesting to see how much more the S2000s as a group will stand out among the other cars at events.
