Why not. Those springs do have its rates and amount of preload. We do need to find out what is in there, what each part does and how. Than we figure out how to change it.
Sometime you have to change part. Here is example of simple spring loaded device, again motorcycle part.
This device has plate that is spring loaded. Plate itself has small hole in it. That small hole is low speed damping. Once pressure increases past the point that plate will lift up. We can change point at which plate lifts by either putting different spring or preloading less or more existing one. Small hole for low speed we can only make bigger for less damping. However if I need more I will just make new plate and drill smaller hole .

My KW springs are marked 110 * 140 which is 110N-mm and 140mm (5.5 inches) in length but they actually measure exactly 2.4 inside diameter by 6 inches in free length. I thought springs were usually speced at no load.

You sure 140 is not some artificial number?
Ohlins does that, you have number like 1091-24/80 on the spring.
1091 is free length, 160mm which has little to do with number 1091 except maybe for Einstein
24 is artificial number for spring rate (80 Nmm).
80 is spring rate in Nmm.

I ignore all marks and just measure each spring for rate (I have spring tester).

I'm not sure, I'll have to do some research on this.

This means I"m running 6" springs in the rear too. It seems most people go with 5.5 inches in the rear and 6 in the front with KW V3s.

It does not matter what length they are if they fit. I run 8" springs on all 4.

I thought it was shipped more than 3 days ago. Waiting patiently. This is definitely going to determine whether I buy another set of KWs when I get the next s2000 or look at something different.
