Default Short Shifter

I guy had a short shifter for the S on E-Bay awhile ago. Does anyone know who makes one and if anyone has one do they make much of a difference?

Thanks

if you do a search there is quite a bit of info on these. From what I have read these are made for the JDM market, so they bend towards the right and are not very comfortable to use

The shifter is made by "C's" I think and I heard it was awkward too but it worked.

For what its worth I have the C's short shifter but its on a UK car (as I'm in the UK)
It angles very slightly to the driver and of coarse is slightly shorter in its throw.
Gear changes feel quicker and once you've got the hang of the different feel its very slick, well pleased with the result it gives.

I'm surprised nobody does one for you guys yet? or maybe they do?

Don't the counter-sunk shift nobs accomplish this a bit? I would expect the notchiness and 2nd gear grinding to be a bit worse with a shorter shifter.

I've the C's on my car - RHD again. I've not found any more notichness, or 2nd gear grinds. The general shift quality is better than stock. There's one downside to the C's that I've found - it's harder to select reverse.

IMO you are better off with a countersunk knob. It shortens the throw without modifying the geometry, is cheaper, and easier to install. I suggest a Voodoo knob from Rick's.. you can even get a cheap one and sell it off with no problem if you don't like it.

I have a knob that is counter sunk already. It is nice but I had a short shifter on my last car and it was great. I was hoping to get similar results on my S.

I actually installed the C's kit on my LHD S. The throw is shorter, more crisp, and closer if that's possible. I installed it so that it leaned towards me and everything's fine. I do agree that reverse is a little hard to come by. And 5th and 6th will take some getting used to along with downshifting. However I am very pleased with the results not thinking it could get any better than stock
