Richard, Pasadena now has train access too. 74 and I work there and it's on our way home. (Volunteering 74 in case I can't fit and don't go). ;-)

I'm 6'1" and 210 lbs and I fit just fine. 250 lbs will be tight, especially if you're 5'5" and 250

but you can probably make it. In fact, it'll make you look really buff. Squeeze everything up to your chest/shoulders....
