The Hondata K-pro requires you to swap out the crank position sensor & trigger wheel, TDC sensor & trigger wheel, and convert to an AP2 valve cover. All of these requirements are illegal per the STR rule set, unfortunately.

Btw just got an email from my tuner and he says we can piggyback the Aem plug and play ems into the car with the obd working and the o2 sensors working as well so it looks like I may be keeping the Aem after all. I think this just adds insult to this rule onbplugband play standalones

I am looking into costs at the moment but he seems pretty confident he can do it. The car was tuned by crispeed

That's awesome!! Crispeed is about to make a bunch of money on 00-05 S2000 STR owners.

I wonder how much better that ECU is going to be over the eManage Ultimate. If it is better, then I will get one from them as I want to reward those that take a chance and develop for us and delivered.

1. Ditch the aem ems in favor of a fic with an 01 ecu(the only thing im doing with the aem that i cant do with fic is raise the rev limit, hence the 01 ecu

2. try to cram the aem guts into the stock housing??

fyi,

heres the dyno chart with all legal str mods with the stock ecu and with the aem ems
FiC can only retard the timing, not advance it, it is advancing timing that makes power on an NA setup, I'd look into something else.

oh so you're local. and yeah he's a great tuner. if he can get it done with the aem ems i'm sure he can get it done with the haltech sprint box or the platinum sport boxes.
