Over the winter I started setting up my '03 AP1 for STR. I have installed the following:

Ohlins DFV 572 lb/in front & 458 lb/in rear
1.25" solid Gendron front bar
Megan Racing off set ball joints
Miata rear bar
17x9 Wheels
BFG Rivals.

I can't remember the ride height at the moment, but it is conservative. Maybe 13.25" from hub to fender.

I've been reading through all the STR threads looking for alignment ideas. I still street drive the car, so I'm not looking for a no compromises autocross setup, but would like to find a reasonable setup.

I'm thinking of the following:

Front
Caster Max and even
Camber -2.5
Toe zero

Rear
Camber -2.5
Toe in 1/8" total

Am I headed down the right path?

seems to be right along the lines of what the ranges of settings are. what made you choose the Ohlins? i was debating on getting these as well. but i may opt for Koni's.

Impulse buy. A friend bought them and changed his mind, so I picked them up.

I was planning on picking up the Ohlins but they were back ordered so went with the Eibach multi pro R2s with 650 all around for the same price.

Write an autocross review! I've searched and couldn't find anything on anyone running the DFV's. i know someone here runs the TTX's but man that's a pricey kit.

Sounds like a good dual duty setup to me. Could go a little higher on camber in front if you want, I actually find I get more even tire wear when camber is optimal. Toe is really what kills your tires but as long as you're around 1/8" or less you'll be good there. Could try 3/16" and see if it kills your tires. The AP1 does benefit from more toe so I would try to maximize that as much as you can while not having too much tire wear. Most run 1/4" but I did notice a big jump in tire wear going from 1/8" to 1/4".

DFVs aren't quite stiff enough to be optimal. They'll be pretty good and are a good dual duty shock but Konis are gonna be better for you for ultimate speed. One guy had DFVs revalved and seemed to have good luck with them then but still had some issue, I think travel was limited.

Edit: Just found out some guy who just dominated at Dixie in STR is on DFVs with off the shelf valving. Nevermind!

I have a set of TC Kline\Koni double adjustables for sale. These definitely have the ability to win Nationals IMO. I'm selling them because I'm selling my STR AP1 (I have my CR that I won Nationals with now). If the CR didn't already come with shocks, I'd be running these at Nat's without a doubt.

I was considering -2.75 camber up front, but thought that may be too aggressive for the street. I ran 1/4" toe when I was in stock class. Thought with the stiffer set up and more camber maybe I could lessen it.
