Default swapping a DBW engine into an '00

Hey, I need a new long block for my '00. I know that if I go F22, MY '05 is easiest. But if this is a track only car and I only expect the basics to work, what's involved in converting to DBW? Is the ECM just plug & play, and some throttle pedal mechanism fiddling?

I've actually thought about doing the same thing so I can run flash pro. After the time, and the headache it will be easier to run Hondata K-Pro. I was guessing to get the wiring harness and swap the sensors needed for the ECU, ECU, gas pedal set up, o2 sensors.......

You can get a dbw motor into a non-dbw car...

- You cannot run the air injection system on an 06+, so you'll need to delete that
- you have to swap over the crank and cam sensors and trigger wheels from a pre-06
- Will require a pre-06 intake manifold and throttle body

However, if you're trying to convert it to DBW, then good luck... You would need to also somehow wire in the DBW control module.

It's more work than it's worth really! It's more than just sensors to be honest. The guy above has it correct, you have to figure a way to get the DBW Module onto the TB. It's a pain if you're looking to get your car back up and running asap.

Using just the motor (and keeping non-DBW) is not too bad, just some sensors as 06Estukay.

I don't believe anyone has done a full DBW conversion, beyond everything mentioned already you will need a new steering rack/EPS module as there are additional sensors required for the stability management. I believe the dash display pinout is also significantly different.

also you'll need to swap valve covers..

You're basically doing the reverse of all the sensor modifications required to run kpro.. OR you could just grab a kpro to go with the 06+ motor and just swap the intake manifold/TB

Okay, thanks all for the insight into complexity. helloimsteve has insight into what I'm trying to do; get back to on-track fun quickly and just looking to open my options for longblocks. I've got so much F20 and MY '05 stuff around, I'll just stick with that as I'm not looking to up my $ to going all KPro and such.
