anyone know a track open to the public in NY (metro) or Long Island area. Would love to get some track time or driving instruction.

Don't know of any in the immediate area, but check out Lime Rock in CT. They have the occasional open track event. Haven't been there myself, but once I get my car, I'll definitely be planning on making a trip (-:

5 of us got together in September an took a 2 day Performance driving class at Pocono Raceway. The class was givin by a company called Driving Dynamics, www.drivingdynamics.com We all learned how to drive our cars near the limits. We had plenty of track time. They offer 2 classes a year at Pocono, 1 is coming up in the Spring. They allow people who have taken the class before to come back for the 2nd day of the class just to get some track time. I know I'll be going back. Pocono raceway is about 1.5 hours outside Manhattan, depending on traffic.
