The 4.5 mile road course will be the longest in the USA. Alan Wilson (Laguna Seca and other tracks) is doing the track design and will be the GM for the new track.

Long straights get to be boring, actually. Spokane Raceway Park has a straight like that, and after a while it starts being "the part of the track you just have to wait to get through so you can get back to the fun bits".

From the photograph it looks like Spokane Raceway is mostly just the straight with not that many turns. I can see how that might get a bit boring. How long is that straight?

I'm not sure how long the straight from sunrise to sunset is at Buttonwillow ... it's one of the longer straights I've driven and I never found it boring.

Regardless, I'm just glad to have a new track close to home!

The website is not responding very well - is this an FIM/FIA approved track? Or is this geared more towards US based series? Or possibly just a country club like organization?
