3) the drilling process for the holes (properly deburred, drilled slowly to avoid excess heat, perfectly round hole of exactly the right size, etc.)
There's no need to drill the trunk floor for the Gendron hitch. You pop the 2 plugs out of the bottom, leaving a grommet in place and insert the bolts through the holes. Very easy. It's not the exact size of the bolt but any movement would be damped by the torque (45 lb-ft) of the bolt ass'y and the grommet. My guess is that, if it moves, it would only be once. The pins in the drawbar, however, would make that failry difficult to achieve...

My Hamerly hitch is now for sale after several years of excellent service! My trailer is also for sale. Car is now a dedicated for track and I bought an 18' enclosed trailer.

The installation is basically the same for both, except that when using an adapter, the power to run the trailer lights is tapped directly from the vehicle wiring, whereas when using a power converter an additional fused, heavy gauge power line from the battery provides trailer light power. In either case, the easiest place to tap into the vehicle wiring is from the harness next to the left taillight assembly. Open up the plastic loom to expose the vehicle wiring. Tap the trailer running light wire into the red/black wire (red wire with black stripe) (p. 22-59). The brake lights are connected to the white/black wire (p. 22-62). The green/red wire activates the left turn signal and the green/yellow wire activates the right turn signal (p. 22-75). Connect the white ground wire to the conveniently located ground stack.
10) (Fig. 7) Mount the adapter/power converter against the sheet metal with double-stick tape and route the 4-pin flat connector to the exterior of the vehicle through the trunk vent opening.
11) (Fig. 8) The 4-pin flat connector can be mounted to the hitch with cable ties.
12) Install the bumper cover. Due to interference from the hitch you will need to reverse the direction of the clips in the underside of the center-rear of the bumper cover. In other words, instead of inserting them from below the cover up into the metal brackets as they were originally, you will need to insert them from above the metal brackets into the plastic cover.
13) Install the trunk trim panels, tool tray and lid

Just ordered my chaserace hitch. I should get it soon. I hope the install is easy. Anyone have any guidance on tricks to get the rear bumper off?

No, but Chase is making the same thing.

Not quite. Functionally it's the same. It's independently reverse engineered, though.
