Hey Harold, thanks again for the hitch. I'm very please with how easy the hitch is to install and remove at the track. I've been to two events this weekend (another one tomorrow) and put the hitch on and removed it to race and put it back on to tow the trailer home ... wow... much easier than I expected. Three pins and it's off, yet when it's on it is rock solid.
Michael:
I sure hope that you got home from the shop and found the bolts and installation instructions, I felt bad all weekend about that.
A t least the rest of the installation went well, did you have to adjust the fwd rood -end any?
Hey Jeff
I have a good solution for the tire tail twisting issue and that is to modify a hitch to have (3) 1 1/4 receiver points, the center one used to tow with and to make a custom tire tail that has (3) 1 1/4 male hookup point?s this will eliminate all the weakness in the hitch to tire tail. Having said that however that is still a lot of weight hanging so far back from the rear tires and from the bumper frame attachment structure, you may still end up with some frame damage in the long -term, small trailers are much more gentle on the car.
I didn't get any pictures this weekend, but I know WestSideBilly did. Gus may have gotten some pictures, too. PM WestSide for pics would be the quickest.

I've decided to stick with the trailer. Additional bracing would certainly relieve some of my fears but, by the time I was done, it's would prolly look like a trailer anyways...
For those do-it-yourselfers, or those who have a good fabrication shop, here is another option.
Purchase a 1-1/4" receiver tube and weld it to the top of the bumper. Cut out the bumper cover to access it. This costs about $15 for parts and total weight added to vehicle is about one pound. It's completely hidden behind the license plate when not used.
I chose this option to keep the installation as stealth as possible and to minimize the weight added to the vehicle.
