Hey SR71BB. Were you able to remove the rear plastic bumper with no damage to those ever so thin side tabs? I think Honda could have done a better job with that.
Gus
Hey Gus! Tell your brother thanks again - what a perfect fit! And yes, I was able to get the cover off w/o damage to the little tabs - the trick is to pull down as you pull outward. If you push up on the cover, it bends down on the tabs more.
Mad Dane - I don't have any pics, but maybe Gus can post some. If not, give me a couple of days.
I'm trying to get a hamerly hitch setup. I sent him a PM and an email a while ago ... but have never heard back. I just sent him another PM and email the other day. Is he still selling these hitches? What's the best way to get ahold of him?
To MSM-S2K. I just got back from Harold Hammerly's house and he has 2 hitches waiting for buyers, I told him to check this site for this thread and now I'll call him to make sure he knows to answer your PM.
We got some pictures on CD ROM when we installed the new one on mi car but Harold and I suck with computers and don't know how to post them, maybe I'll have a more computer lit guy like KCDC post them.
Gus
Hello MSM, Martin and Gus:
As usual I start my mail replays with an apology, I need 48 hr. days to get things done anymore!! .
Glad to hear from Martin and that everything went OK, I was expecting a couple of calls with questions or complaints but nothing!!, hope to see some picks in a few days and see you in Grissom.
MSM. I emailed you a few minutes ago with some info.
Harold
We'll take pictures at Grissom, then post here and over in the 4sale board.
Sorry I didn't call, Harold. From start to finish, it only took me about 45 minutes to do the complete install. The hardest part of the whole thing was getting the license plate light connector undone!
I've had my Gendron hitch for about 6 months, and towed my tire trailer about 2000 miles.
Last weekend after towing to a local event, I noticed that there were cracks in the trunk sheet metal where the forward attachment point is mounted.
The hole on the left is the size of the large fender washer used to hold the piece in place.
For those who just installed the Gendron hitch, I'd think about trying to reinforce the trunk or maybe find something larger than the fender washers to spread the load over a larger area.
P.S. If anyone still wants a Gendron hitch, and has a solution to avoid this problem, mine is for sale.
