It's not that bad....get a Helm or a Factory manual and set aside a few hours for the job. The only issue I had with the removal was when I removed the condenser? (the heavy thing on the passenger side by the footwell) it was still filled with refrigerant and when I was tryint to maneuver it around to get it out it flipped over and dumped refrigerant into my eyes and straight up my nose into my sinuses. I literally had to turn the hose on and flush that shit out of my head.
yes but what all do i remove?
does the helms manual outline what to do for removal or just repair,
what will my AC do when I turn it on? Will fan just blow outside air?

First, do what I didn't do and pay to have someone suck all the refrigerant out. Then remove the AC lines (which weigh nothing, btw) and then the condenser (on the drivers side, not on the passenger side as I had written) and then once that is done the Evap Core in the passenger footwell. Once it's all disconnected the AC just doesn't blow cold air....light says it's on, but ain't nothin happening because nothing is left.

I've got a Honda factory manual and it tells you what you need to do to remove everything. Been awhile since I did mine, so my memory is a little cloudy.

The one thing to keep in mind--once you take the lines out I do believe that mounting the radiator catch tank is a pain. I replaced mine with a large bicycle water bottle that I modified.

Just noticed you're in Boise--wow--Boise w/no AC. Good stuff, man. I thought I was hardcore removing my AC here in CA. I used to live up in Meridian....summers can get horribly hot....

What's the racing / autocrossing scene up there like? My bro has a Miata and can't seem to find anywhere to wring it out.

I just came across a 190 gram savings. Changed out the sparkplug cover for this 140 gram one. You could loose 330 grams if you just leave it off.
