What do you guys think of a 15 flat??...
Well today was the first time at a legal drag strip in about a year and it really showed. I'm pretty pissed about my performance, but I'm happy with my car. One thing I want to rant about is the fact that I paid $30 to run three times...Is that not a rip off?
On to the rest of the story...My first run was my best, a 15 flat. Now keep in mind that this is at an elevation of 5,860 feet I started revving up to 7500 rpm (the last track I was at was really sticky), dumped the clutch and pretty much spun through the 60' netting a 2.355 (I used to get a regular 2.2). After spinning for the first part it was on...When I shifted to second, I squealed the tires which suprised me because it's difficult to do at this elevation for me. Then when I shifted to third I squeaked them again, hella suprising! Now more bad, coming down the homestretch shifting into fourth, I missed fourth!!!! SON OF A B*%#$!!! My mph was 85.
On my second and third runs I lowered my rear tires to about 25 psi and bogged badly launching at 7 & 7.5K. And get this...the only time this has ever happened to me, when I launched my hand was resting on the shifter and I accidently pulled it out of first my last two runs. Ooooh I was pissed. But on the good side, on one of those last two runs I got a mph of 91 bogging badly and pulling it out of first.
Even after a sh!tty day at the races, based on the times some of the other cars got that I have beaten, I'm thinking I should be in the mid 14's if I don't screw up and get a decent launch.
As far as go fast mods go, I have a VAFC, custom CAI, took out my AC, and all of my sound deadening. I didn't take out my passenger seat because I wanted to see about what I run on the street.

Milo,
Does Bandimere correct for altitude or is that uncorrected?...(assuming uncorrected).
$30 seems a bit high, but I want to do an official time at the strip one day.
Every Sunday?

Today was the last of the test and tune for the weekends. Test and tunes are on Wednesdays now.
Those are great times in Denver. What kind of tires are you running?

I'll probably stick with the tires I have until I get my turbo. Then I might go with some slicks, or R compound tires, just so I don't have so much traction problems.
