I think the power curve of the turbo, as in the off/on response, is what sets the majority of us to go with a blower. As least for me it was.
I think the power curve of the turbo is THE reason to go with a turbo (any maybe the sound lol). I think a SC has a more on/off response than a turbo as the SC is always spooled ready to go..

I WAS making 466whp I ran a two day event with it and that was that. This was on a custom side winder turbo setup. It was just too problematic and too hard to keep it cool.

As far as throttle response/power band, I have something I'm working on that may help lower top end power and raise mid range even further! It may be a while before its completed but I've been emailing with a new tuner that thinks its possible.

I'll probably lighten car further still target around 8:1 but with much higher mid range.

If you want ridiculously fast spool/throttle response, try the EFR 7163. It's a tiny turbo that seems to have a compressor map very similar to the GT3076R. It also has an aluminum bearing housing. The dyno tests of it show it spooling faster than the stock STI and Evo turbos, but able to make over 500 whp on E85...

I'm at 450hp at the moment running a custom manifold with a hta3076 turbo. 1.1 bar of boost. Going to 1.4-1.5 bar soon once I have finished testing the cams for urge designs. Don't have any issues with heat but done a lot of work to prevent any issues.

Pretty sure this sums it up. With any FI track car, heat is the enemy. Some of the "kits" have some nice additions to help address this. The prior owner of my car spent lots of time & money breaking stuff to find what does/doesn't work for a 500whp track car. I am taking it further, but everything is custom and has cooling mods at this point.
