To get a rollbar "approved", each car will have to inspected individually by whoever you race with.

I'm still waiting for a rollbar to purchase. I could have one made for about $1K, but the fabricator will not build a bolt-in rollbar. Weld in only. I want to be able to remove it when I replace the car.

I was allowed to run convertible down at several HPDEs this year, so it passed THOSE inspections...
I responded in your other thread. Being allowed to run top-down is in no remote way an endorsement of your design. HPDE tech inspections are nowhere near the same thing as race tech inspections. In fact, many HPDEs let you self-inspect. Open a RULEBOOK and find out for yourself if it's legal.

Built it according to the rulebook, but as you state, it depends on what the inspectors decide

No, you don't need any rollbar to run an autocross.

Im getting a little sick of this roll bar crap. I really want to run at VIR next year, so Im either gona have someone fab me one (not sure if thats gona work) or pick up the cusco bar this winter. Another board member has one here in mid-a and has his harness attached to it... also his came in black, not blue.
Or... Ill steal Dans Elda.

Or a Safety 21 bar (aka Cusco in DOM steel).

Steer clear of the Cusco/Safety 21. The back mounting points are a joke. Would take just a little force to rip them out.
