agree with everyone above go to any autocross event..today was my first event, had fun and learned a lot!

 

Joey, good to see you here! Autocrossers are seriously some of the best people I've met ever. And I meet a lot of people for work.

Another option is for $500-$700 you can "rent" a local autocross season co-drive and be able to compare apples to apples.

 

I am def going to check it out, looking foward to some warmer weather

Also totally agree with Evo School. That was our first introduction to motorsport. It has benefit of having some of the best autocrossers in the nation as your instructors. You want to start with good fundamentals before you start picking up bad habits. It was also very illustrative to have the instructors show me in my car where I was grossly overdriving and losing time. I didn't want to believe it at first, but the clock doesn't lie.

Also, you might want to check out the National Tour in Jersey. I'll bet a bunch of s2ki'ers will be there. I'm sure someone would be happy to let you ride along during the Test and Tune session. You can also sign up for the Evo Advantage school without registering for the event.

Plenty of events at Meadowlands, which isn't far from Hoboken at all. I'll be at almost all of them!
