Last night my freinds and I got together and had races that you only read about in Road & Track. I raced my stock S2K against a freind's stock M-Coupe. This consisted of 4 races. The first one i got distracted and messed up my launch. THe secound one i took him on the launch and at about 100mph he started to catch up to me. I guess at the higher speeds the M-coupes higher tourque gets the best of us. The third and fourth races I killed him. Perhaps I am a better driver but if that is all it takes to beat an M-coupe then I am glad I bought the S instead of it.

I'm guessing that his M is stick also. How many car(s) did you had him by? From what I heard from other members, the two cars are very well matched.

According to a brochure on the BMW the M-coupe only comes in Stick. All I beat him by was the what i had on him from the launch.

How do the euro lights look on your s2k? Are they the same thing as the altezza lights?

They look good. As soon as I get the chance I will post before and after pics. The only altezza lights I know of are taillights; I am not goin to do anything with them.

I own both -- given equal driving the M coupe is faster hands down.

I am not aware of any 98 M coupes -- some were sold in 98 but to the best of my knowledge were all 99's like mine. 01 315HP M's are said to be running very low 13's stock -- cool.
