PilotKD, yes the 04's might be a lot faster from 2k roll in 3rd gear, but what idiot is going to race someone from 2k rpm in 3rd gear?

Well like i said, IF I WERE going to race i would drop to the lower gear to get to the highest rpms, it's not like i drive around at 6000 rpms. Daily driving i shift around 4k rpms, but if i were to race while i was just driving home doing my "normal daily driving" i would still downshift and not just stay on the same gear. I don't see where i wrote that i always stay at 6k rpms, but if i did, that is not what i meant, i said if i were going to race, i'm not going to stay in 3rd gear at 2k rpms like an idiot, obviously i would downshift to 1st gear. If 95% of your races are under vtec, then you should lose 95% of those races because you obviously don't know how to race. If you really are racing like that, here's a tip, try dropping a gear and get at the higest rpms possible then race, i'm sure you will be amazed of the huge difference.

And the ap1 vs ap2 thing i was talking about, i said the 04's are probably a little faster, 1/4 mile times are very close so who cares what car has a faster launch, it matters at the end right? I dunno about you, but i don't do any races to 40 mph.
