This was atleast two years ago I don't know much about them if any difference in years but no way was I confused. Who knows maybe he left it in 6th the whole time but he was definitely going considering we got in excess of 125+ on I95.

No, you ARE confused. The SS either WASN'T racing you, or it WASN'T an SS.
even if was two years ago, it was still a 2010 SS. EVEN IF the guy left it in 6th the entire time (which I doubt, because you really don't hit 6th in the LS3 until at LEAST 70-75) once he hit about 100, he would have walked you, and pretty badly.
Alright you win, I made it all up. SS was so bad ass I sold my S this morning and I went and bought one.. Idk what to tell you man, is what it is. Buy a 08 S then go find a stock SS on the. Highway not a Stoplight a nice 70 mph highway take off and post your results. Until that day happens Idk what to tell you chief but I'm sure it was SS I'm sure he was going I'm sure he gave me thumbs up only.thing I'm unsure about is why you think the way you think? Do you secretly own a camaro?

It's a secret.

Dude the gen 5 camaro SS can't even turn that tall ass 6th gear.. 4th gear goes past 140mph and the finish the quarter in 3rd gear..

Do you really think the SS could start in 6th and win against the slowest of cars!?

It could have been a v6 LT or whatever, those come with SS wheels.. And badges aren't hard to swap, never know these days with the way people are..

But 90% of the people that know about these cars (SS camaros) will call BS on your story..

Like I've said, i have ran a stock one, and even getting the hit the camaro SS would blow right by me like something fierce!! And this guy is one of my best friends so I know all the details from his side and my side..

The new SS is not slow, 12.9 or better in the 1/4m.. And a 110mph trap speed.. While stock s2000's trap 101-103 depending on conditions.. So a car is out accelerating by a constant 7-9mph, which means it's going to beat the shit out of you.. Unless he started in the wrong gear (4th) and you took the hit (went before him), it's just not logical..

Thank you. Couldn't have said it better.
If this was a V-6 camaro, I could totally see that your car may have beat him. But those LS3s pull REAL hard after 80. get around 100 and they still pull like a freight train.

I don't need to go buy a S. I owned one for 6 years. I know what they are capable of. I think this way because i own an LS3. (not a camaro) And i will tell you from experience that an LS3 would have NO problem spanking an S, especially at the speeds you were talking about. Add to the fact your car is stock, and sorry, just don't see it happening.

Look, maybe he wasn't racing, maybe it was actually a V-6, maybe he was just following you, I don't know. But what i do know is that if he was REALLY going at it with you, even if he was a crappy driver, he still wouldn't have much problems taking you.

Also, the auto SS isn't an LS3 (just for clarification purposes) they are slower, but will still Molly whop a stock or bolt on s2k..

Just saying..

Sorry to rain on anyone who believes that story's parade..

Here's my car:

Stock they put down 350-370rwhp, but the gears are so tall that it honestly doesn't feel that fast. I could easily see an S2000 pulling one from 60-120 if the guy in the SS started in 4th gear. 4th tops out at around 160, while 3rd is good for 110 or so. At 60, the car should be in 2nd for a true pull.

Yep, me and my friend have played gearing games and when we pick a low enough speed in 3rd gear for both of us I would run away from him.. And if I start in 3rd and he starts in forth it takes a really long time for him to catch me..

But now he's got an IPS twin turbo kit on it and it's a baadddd bish!!

I ran one on the freeway from 80-120 or so and the guy was like maybe a bus length ahead (3-4 cars)and pulling, but this is with 4.77s which suck after 105-110. Plus I consider my car to be on the weaker end of things, even with full bolt ons (not tuned) The guy probably didnt downshift as far as he could have, but doesnt mean the guy is delusional and/or making shit up. I would totally nom on one with spray, that extra torque + 4.77s is ridiculous.

Id compare it to the stock 335i I ran about a week ago on the freeway, dude kept getting the jump and I'd stop his pull at 8k+ above, but he was definitely moving
The SS is as fast as they make it out to be. The 335i is also likely to be quicker than a 4.57 or 4.77 s2k.
