Default AP1 vs. Sti

So Im at this 2-lane light by myself and I see & hear this black car comin up fast along side of me. I noticed his big ass hood scoop in my side view mirror and Im thinking, yeah!!! -I finally get to play with an Sti and Im not in my mom's accord as usual when I see guys on the road who wanna play a little! lol. I can tell he had that big ass angled exhaust that most Sti's have. I look over and give him a little "whats up nod" and he does the same. So we are both reving high waiting for the light to turn green as Im looking around for cops. Radar reads ok. I was at around 6500 rpms when I dumped the clutch. He instantly jumped about a car ahead (which I was expecting since he's AWD). I stay in 1st & 2nd all the way to 9K and pulled almost even with him. I was able to stay right with him up until I shut down at around 75mph. I was at his door and he wasn't able to pull away, but I wasnt able to pull ahead either. So I am pretty satisfied with the results even though I didnt win. I know I gained atleast 10HP with my mods, since my buddy has a similar setup and dynoed his.

Ok so are we supposed to beat these cars or loose. I raced one the other day. I was on the phone and I look to my right and this Subaru STI or WRX was beside me nodding. He had the one angled tailpipe and his wheels did not look all that special. I nod my head and he nods his but we have all this traffic in front of us. So I tell my boy on the phone "hey man let me call you back".

So while we wait for traffic to open up on I-24, the guy starts jumping and lunging the car, so I just step on it in 4th at about 5K.....and I take off, I wasn't even in VTEC and the car pulled hard.

Which one is faster STI or WRX?

STI is faster by far

300hp-sti
225hp-wrx

for a stock s2000 you should lose to an sti but beat a wrx depending on the driver it can be a close race

Maybe he just had a modded subaru, there was no wing and the wheels did not look special....300hp should not have lost like that.....I don't know what it was....... it did sound like a fart can though.

Similar event happened to me too. I was northbound on the 101 headed towards Santa Barbara. I'm in the fast lane going about 75-77mph until I catch a white car with a big hood scoop and HIDs rushing my tail. He drives along side and I can feel his stare...I look back over, give a wave, and drive normally. He speeds up and gets in front of me...and takes off. I think to myself "Oh hell no..." So I drop down to 5th gear and follow him as we weave in through traffic at a fairly high rate of speed. He gets over into the slower lane and waits for me to pull up along side him. I look over, smile, and he honks...so I honk back. He then does the three honk thing and I assume that it meant that we were going to run. I drop into 5th gear as the first honk goes, then into 4th gear during the second honk (I'm at 65mph at this point)...and the third honk goes...He takes off. Engines roars and I hear the notorious boxer rumble...I shift conservatively into 3rd to avoid a mishift and VTEC it all the way to redline...He's a car length ahead of me, I shift to 4th, and pull a bit closer...vtec 4th all the way to redline, I about to pull alongside him, until I hit 5th, then I start opening the distance between us and start pulling away from him. I'm at about 110mph or so at this point and take it all the way to 130 and there's about 3-4 car lengths between us...enough space so I can see his whole car from my rear passenger side mirror. I don't know if he was modded or not or didn't know how to drive...I'm not supposed to be able to pull away from him.

At the high speeds I would figure that you should pull away with him being AWD and all. 100-130 he should be no match.

When I had basic bolt ons on my s2k (header, exhaust w/test pipe, intake, vafc) compared to my stage2 sti (accessport/turboback/intake/protune), theirs no doubt that the sti would spank my s2k anytime, whether city or highway. After going back to completely stock on my sti, i feel that a stock s2k or even an s2k w/bolt ons can beat my stock sti since the sti runs out of breath once it reaches higher rpms, plus the stock gearing sucks ballz.

Well idk ive raced 3 STi's ive lost once and destroyed 2 of them. I must admit that one of the drivers couldnt drive. But the otha one was pretty good, and we were about even till i 95 then i pulled him till 126. about a car length so idk i still think that the sti's are faster.
