I am more impressed with this car everyday

Tonight I went a few rounds with an LS1 trans am from a roll, two starting at 65mph and 1 at 45mph, each solidly up into triple digit speeds. Each time I put an easy 1-1.5 cars on him. Afterwards we caught a light and spoke, he was an auto (I was sad) and was stock (car had 30day tags). He was very surprised to learn my car was "pretty much stock"

 

What kind of gains did you get with the vafc?

Yeah those LS1 Fbodys and camaros are whack. I beat a Camaro SS by a car going up hill with AC on lol. Of course AC kicks off when you hit WOT but I was very impressed with my car.

 

So either you guys are pushing 300whp NA or you don't know the difference in a LS1 and a LT1

 

Well considering the front ends look completely different just as they do with the LT1/LS1 camaros I think I do......

 

I'm going to go ahead and say "good kill", but the LS1 is clearly the faster car (in a straight line), stock for stock, no comparison.

 

yeah, the auto tranny and final gears on the Fbodies make the autos much more docile than the manuals

if it were a manual and you were stock, you'd notice the difference.

 

That kill is definitely possible. From what I understand, most LS1 autos run low 14s. So an AP2 beating one is entirely possible.

Not true. Auto LS1 F Body's run similar times to their 6 speed counterparts - mid to low 13's.
