Seems like the 6 speed M3 is always faster than the SMG.

Not trying to jack this guys thread... but yeah SMG can be difficult to launch the 60ft is where the MT6 has the advantage... you can see the average 60 ft time was 2.0-2.2 SMG but still 105.6-109 traps at 13.1-13.3 according to this... SMG is even more precision from roll, if you think it's a handicap you'll find out! I've hung with alot of fast cars from a roll... and have killed people from a stop using LC...

Lol... Enzo has two pedals... Ferrari Stradale 2 pedals... SMG takes skill, two pedals... SMG is the sh!t! in my opinion esp in the M3. It took four months for me to get fully use to the transition but it kicks a$$! With a competent driver like myself you'd be suprised how precision SMG is in and out of corners, highway acceleration, etc...
Bill, I'm not arguing with you about the performance of the SMG, as I'm sure it's pretty awesome. However, I still prefer to do the stroking myself. It's what I find to be very fun.

Isn't there a limit on how many launch controls you can do?

Too bad the US launch control is lower than the Euro software, but I guess it would suck to loose your warrantee on a new BMW.

Yeah 1800-2000 rpms... but I still get solid launches! I've ran guys that revv up like crazy while they're spinning!!! I take off!

The Euro spec is set at 3500 rpms but that doesn't matter. 15 Launches and the warranty is voided. Federal Law detuned our M's b/c of this stipulation. Reving means crap if you can't hook!
