Ok here is some proof, MM&FF tested the 02 SS vs. the 03 Cobra, the SS was the 325HP car, it put down 317RWHP and 340.4RWTQ, explain that, and is was the NO OPTION car, and they even stated that a full option car would have out out 10-15RWHP more, but I'm sure you have some stupid excuse or somthing for that too, right. And back in 1998, yes 1998 before the LS6 intake they had a BONE STOCK, even stock tires Z-28 go 12.79@110, that was with VERY good driving, but also proves it can be done. if you want to see the dtno sheet for the SS go to the link, I reallt can't wait to see what crap you make up for this one, it should be entertaining like the rest of your stupid comments!! I think the loudmouth alone would take that stock 317 to atleast 325, that is VERY reasonable 8RWHP from a cat-back on an LS1, maybe even more. And no matter how bad you say the SLP lid is, it HAS to be better than stock, damn dude if that lid and filter make even a few HP you are looking at 330 and close to 350TQ, but wait there is no way a stock SS will dyno 340TQ, yea well it did, just because your Z-28 did'nt does not mean it cant happen. I think we all agreed that what happenened did happen, but it was against an LT1 or L98 Vette. Anything can happen on the road. A Yugo could beat a Viper if the Viper driver just sat there and spun the tires.
FWIW - regarding the apparent controversy over dyno numbers and 1/4 mile times/speeds of Corvettes, specifically iron-head L98's (85-86E). This chart was from the 85 I owned for about 15 years. The only mods were dynomax mufflers.
330 rwtq down low - the L98's are well known for their torque. As the years went on the torque numbers went up, but they also peaked at higher revs. So I do not doubt that LS1's generate 350 rwtq. Honda606, it seems like your '02 Z28 was a runt.
Here are some time slips from the first and only time I raced at a dragstrip. I was driving my vette (0031), stock except for mufflers and 11 inch rear wheels with 315/25/17 Pirelli P7000 supersports on the rear.
best time of 14.044, best speed of 101.08 - florida, summer afternoon, humid.
btw - the run on the left slip was my last. Mustang in the left lane spun - watched him kiss the wall in my rear-view. he was lucky, and so was I.

No point in arguing with Honda606 he is a LS1 genious. He thinks he knows everything, but he knows nothing!! And yes he had a VERY weak LS1, those are THE WORST # I have ever seen out of a modded 01+ LS1.
ok.. HOW many of you with S2000's have drove a C5 or owned one? I'm guessing not many.. I had a 98 C5(auto/2.73 gears 100% stock) on a crappy track in Hawaii my best was 13.55@103.96 2.15 60 ft.. this is basically the SLOWEST C5 made.. my best trap was 104.15..
this is quite abit faster than ANY stock S2000 will go, and a 6 speed C5 would be significantly faster and quicker, especally the 2001+ with their extra 5 hp/25 ft lbs torque..
I've got a co-worker who has a black '98 C5 convertible. Nice car! I've had a chance to drive it on many occasions. It's definitely a machine.
I've never had a chance to run against him, although we've talked about it many times but never had the opportunity..yet.
It's not even up for debate. This 'vette will beat an S2k...convincingly. There is just way too much torque just about everywhere.
When the opportunity arises, I will run against him just to see how I'd do. But doubt if I can beat him without him miss-shifting or making some other mistake.
The posted pic of the white vette looks just like the one I beat, less the mods obviously.
