I somewhat disagree....

I believe that the standard Corvette was built with more of a 0-60 design and acceleration. Yes, it does handle well, but I think GM Engineers biult the Z06 for strictly track use. There were many changes to the Z06 in handling and ratios, but only a 15 hp gain. That meant it was only designed to handle like a champ!

Why do people insist on comparing apples to oranges?

Corvette is faster in the straight-line and on the track, hands down. But a good kill against someone who was obviously not trying.

oK ITR Racer,

Why is it so hard to believe..... Is it really that hollow in your head

The S2000 wasn't stock, and the vette was a conv. which is heavier and slower that a normal vette. So what your saying is there is no chance for an s2000 to beat a vette period?

Also, if your going to compliment me on a good kill, do follow it up with an insult like "someone who wasn't trying." It sounds rather retarded....

Pappy, I bet you had no idea you would create such a fuzz.
1. You beat the damn C5...and you even had 3 witnesses (you, your copilot and the vette driver).
2. You obviously have a fast S2000: where did you buy your spoon exhaust and what do you mean by cutting the airbox? They obviously made a world of a difference.
3. Keep enjoying the hell out of your car!

It's interesting that when comparisons are made there's only one comparison that seems to stick - the Vette and the S. As a Honda owner I'm flattered at the comparison. To think that a car that's been out for a couple of years would be compared with one that's been sold and improved for almost fifty years. I find it amazing that anyone can do it so well on the first try! The Vette may be the most improved car on the road since it's inception. I always wanted a 63-65 with the FI 327. I almost bought one at one time but $6k was just too steep - I WAS A FOOL! I still remember looking at that one (used) in front of my Dad's business in Miami, Fla. It had that sound that every kid with a lead foot would die for. It's probably good I didn't get it - I may not be alive now

Finally!!!!, somebody who makes sense.....

If you look inside your airbox, you will see that there is a wall that blocks about 85% of the air going inside the intake. I just took a dremel, and cut the wall out, and I felt an instant difference. Also, that Spoon exhaust made such a difference, words cannot even compare. Mingster @ Importdevelopment hooked me up with an awesome price. I am not saying Vette's suck, but I am saying that on last Wed night, I beat a yellow vette on US19 N.

And it felt damn good.....

Racing on US19N. Such a wonderful place to die. Pray for me I drive on US19. Unlimited access with thousands of old folks that have forgotten how to drive, and more that don't know how to.
