Nice work on the E36 M3 Dinan!!! Even if it was just a badged E36 M3 without any tweaks, it is one fast car. Good job.

I know what has overcome my face with is passing E36 M3s at Watkins Glen in my slammed '90 CRX-Si. I can't wait for next year when I have the '02 S2 . Thank you HONDA for the great performance per dollar equation.

Yes I have. I raced Houstooks when I had a Dinan CIA & Upgraded Software (+10-12HP).

I think with a stock vs. stock they're very even, but if it was a best of 5 drag series I would definitely put my money on the M3 b/c it's much easier to launch (gotta love the wide torque band!).
How much is this Jim C Cam kit I keep hearing about? Is it going to be compatible w/ all my Dinan? Later

you can't buy Dinan badge (ebay don't count). The REAL replacement Dinan badge cost $140. I have never seen a Jim C Cam kit. It was a hot item in UUC digest for quite awhile. I think it kind of died down now days. You will be worth the money if you go get Shriek Cam and Shriek Intake. That would bump up your HP significantly to out run a S2000. Ask me how I know.
Here is a link of the car.

maddog, you have mail.

Stealthy, your buddy had a 95, which makes it far easier to mod. With my 97, to get the juice from cams, I either have to go obd I conversion or wait till Jim C's kit comes out. With headwork, fly cams, intake, your friend was probably in the 320 range. I would doubt your s2k would have had a chance unless he messed up his shifting.

Surprised he had a taller final drive ratio, as 95's came with 3.15 gears if I'm not mistaken. My stock ratio is 3.23, and I'm thinking shorter, like a 3.46 or 3.64 differential, maybe a Quaife (similar to your Torsen).

you know, if you convert your OBD-II to OBD-I, you can get 30 to 40HP out of your stock engine. Give Active Autowerke a call, they have done this before. That way, shriek cam and intake will work perfect on your car.

I like Jim C stuff don't get me wrong. Sometimes, I think his product are over priced.

Ok, I mean a shorter final drive. (I always get it wrong). he has 3.9 for his final drive. 3.4 or 3.6 is not going to be noticable enough. 3.9 is perfect for track and occational street driving. I drove mine 325is with 3.9 final drive, I swear I can haunt stock M3 at race track on straights. His car topped out around 160 rev-limited.

If you are going to shell out few K for Jim C Cam, might as well to convert back to OBD-I and give it shot. That would make your engine so easy to modify after that anyway.

Tim,

You chances are strong considering I'm mounting my new Fikses-18 today. I hope it doesn't slow me down too much. Let's meet up Sat. Houstook's usual location? Late

DEFINITELY not a real DINAN. Probably just a normal M3, I had messed around with one of them the other day at an Audi meet, pulled on him pretty hard, but I don't think I would have had the same luck with the supercharged version.
