Or maybe he was just pussy... Actually i used to play tag along all the time. i still do, but i did it more in my camry. Just see how well i can keep up with other cars. After all, how well can a 92 camry do??

Excatly, if the E46 was a M3, he should beat you in the begining when you didn't downshift. So my guess the E46 is probably a 330 or 325. Flame not intended, nice encounter!

More than often when you run into E46 M3's, the owners RARELY ever want to play in the twisties. However, that is not to say they wont drag race. Just show them a shift rev and they usually give you a nod and take off

I have to disagree, I've done track days and autocrosses in both cars and the M3 is easier to drive at the limit. The M3's suspension and steering provide more feedback and the car is much more progressive when reaching the limits of adhesion.
