The new E55 makes more like 550 hp, and weighs 4200 lbs. But as you say, believe what you want.

[edit: I stand corrected on weight. My source is wrong this time ]

BTW, alexf20c, (I know you know this) usually you use 20% drivetrain loss on an auto, which would kick the new E55's power up to ~550 hp at the crank
drivetrain loss doesnt 'kick' power up. the e55 makes 469hp to the crank and with 20% drivetrain loss, it puts about 357hp to the wheels. You're adding that 20% rather than subtracting it. Also, the RS6 has beat it in pretty much every comparison ive read.

Sheesh! Calm down boys!

At HRP, we ran a 12.2 at 118mph - on the stock Pilot Sports. That's pretty fast.

Now, to beat that car on the freeway, you need some serious balls. Just today, I bumped into my dad at Quizno's. I was driving my '72 Camaro, and my friend in his 457rwhp WS6. My dad was in the E55. Of course, it ended up in a pissing match, which we resolved in a 3-way grudge match down I-45.

From a 50mph roll, I punched it in 2nd gear. I was pretty quick. The WS6, however, was quicker - he chirped the tires as soon as his auto tranny kicked down. My dad just rocketed away. It would've spun the tires if traction control was off.

Anyway, long story short: I got smoked. And so did the Firebird. I called my dad after the race because they were too far ahead to tell who won. My dad - "I had him by 1/2 a car."

Now, I've personally timed (although rather crudely with a Timex stopwatch) the E55 from 0-60mph in 4.1sec, 0-100mph in 9.4sec, and 0-150mph in 22.1sec. By the numbers, that's 100-150mph in 12.7sec. Obviously, this car pulls HARD above 100mph. But, with the annoying governor, it tops out at 157mph... In 4th gear.

For an NSX to beat an E55, you need either some boost or a bottle. But SoFla never said he beat it - only that he kept up with it. Big difference.

And, just for the record, the E55 AMG weighs in at ~4200lb, makes 440rwhp, 471rwtq, and has an 0.32 drag coefficient. It will beat Z06s, Vipers, Turbos, and 600 bikes - all proven.

The S2000 will get smoked by any E55 AMG (all-motor or blown).

BTW, my Camaro, which was slaughtered today by the E55, makes 264.7rwhp (4850rpm) and 281.3rwtq (3300rpm) on a DynoJet. That was my baseline dyno, which I pulled just yesterday at school, believe it or not.

So, compare that to the NSX and you should get an idea of how badly it should get beaten.
