I had to revisit my old stomping grounds (moniker: thRUSSt) to chime in. My '00 Camaro SS was sold two months ago and I subsequently purchased this '02 S2000. Is there anyone more qualified to comment on the stupidity of this speed comparo than I?
Comparing the straight line performance of the cars makes about as much sense as comparing the build quality. My $30K SS is (was) built like a $20K car and the $32K S2K is built like a $40K car. I'm not going to get into performance yada...yada...yada..., since it's obvious that power is the LS1's bread and butter but for God's sake, my SS had 385hp...what do these guys expect? I'm reading former co-horts bragging 'cause a car with 8-cylinders pushing, in most cases, 305hp to the wheels is quicker than a four-banger? These automobiles are built for two different purposes. Is this news to those guys? Hopefully, I represented s2ki.com members with the appropriate reserve, indicative of our passion for this great automobile.

I have an account over there. I don't post much becuase there are too many closeminded morons with overinflated egos who think that they bought the best piece of automtovie machinery ever produced. I don't begin to think a s2000 is fast, but a stock ls1 Fbody sure the hell isn't fast either. If anyone wants to use my account go ahead. I could post there, but I hate arguing with the un-arguable. Whatever you say you won't change any minds... not even a little. It's pointless. Maybe someone should post that ls1/s2000 video where the ls1 pulled maybe 1-2 cars (basically my experience with ls1 cars, hell not even that! two races and they werne't able to pull much on me at all).

Yea, the cal vette beat the *STOCK* busa, but he is wimping out on ALL invitations for racing a TURBO hayabusa, or even a mildly modified BUS. In other words, comparing stock vehicles to modified ones is pointless, regardless of how you look at it.
