Z06's only come in hardtops. I don't think you'll see any hardtop conversions out there. The only thin that could snag you is if it's a pre-2001 hardtop, then just look for the rear brake ducts, front screens, rims, tires, exhaust, and badges.

Some people think the Viper GTS and RT-10 have the same body style too.

Bad1le,

He was being sarcastic about a stock vette beating him. Try and get a good sports car first, then you can rip on other people's rides....

Preluder,

Of course I know there a major differences in power and suspension, but from the looks perspective. The only way I can tell is exactly what Shizon said, the gunsmoke wheels, brake vents, and if you are really good, the titanium exhaust. I thought for the extra money there should be a different hood of somesort. Honestly, how do you distinct a SS or Ram Air from a regular Comaro and Trans Am, the body peices!

Shizon,

People really think they are the same sometimes??? How can you not notice the big black exhaust on the side??

I can say with some confidence, that the C5 in those videos is NOT stock in any way shape or form. And a torque convertor is NOT going to aid an auto vette THAT much...It would be most benefical off the line, as I'm sure it has a higher stall speed, and I'm sure power gain is negligible as I wouldn't doubt stock auto vettes already have a lock up torque convertor...anyways, watch the NSX videos. An NSX bone stock (manual), is a low 13 second car. Automatic c5s are aproximately mid 13 second cars on average. Let's assume his torque convertor puts him into the low 13s, right beside a stock NSX. Well, as you can see from the videos, Wes is hanging with "modded" (albeit probably mildly) NSXs, so how an Auto Vette with just a torque convertor could pull that much is completely beyond me.

The only reasonable conclusion? Either that vette is putting down 350whp stock, or there's no way on God's green Earth that it's stock. Period.

Some poeple like the vette for the bang for the buck and american muscle, and some people like the s2k for the build quality and fun factor. The only complaint I have for the vette is that there isn't a very distintive difference between a Z06 and a regular C5. I wish there was a little bit more difference to separate the two.
I NEVER said 1 car was better than the other. Honda Racer did. His quote was

I said I know several Vette owners who would strongly disagree. I greatly prefer the Vette. I grew up in a die hard BOWTIE family so it's no surprise that I'd take the Vette over the S2K. I've been street/drag racing as long as I can remember and it's high HP V8's with tons of torque that get my heart beat racing. The S2K is just way too limited in it's capabilities in a straight line to hold my attention. I'll admit that it's a cool little ride and does what it was designed to do really well. It corners great and looks cool and all that stuff. But at the end of the day you just can't mod it enough to make it impress me in a straight line. I really dig Wes' ride and what he's done with it, but it's just not fast enough to keep me happy (well not yet anyway ... I hear Wes has more changes in store ). Having daily driven street cars that ran 12's when I was 16 just kinda spolied me I guess.

Glen,

Sorry If I came across like I was accusing you. That was even the point of the post, I was actually saying it to the general public, but it sort of came out at you.....

Glen / Shizon,

What do you think about the exterior differences between the C5 and Z06? Do you sort of agree with me that their needs to be a great difference?
