Default How fast is the Integra Type R?

How fast are these things in a straight line. They seem to handle pretty well but how does it hold up in the straights?

Lets say a midly modded (I/H/E, mild cams, tuning) against a stock or bolt on S2k?

What do you guys think? Is the "R" overated or what?

An S2000 should win in straight line, but those cars are quite good in the twisties - they're killers in Auto-X. Still, given equal drivers, the S2000 will win. Otherwise, throw in some corners and it'll be fairly close, I would imagine. Straight line, though, the S2000 should rule, especially with the mathematical advantage (tighter gearing) and higher rev limit...

The stock Type R's that I've seen at the track usually run around a 15.0 1/4

since i used to have one, I must say R is much more forgiven car than the S. it is much easier to launch... If it's a bone stock R and S with same driver, I would say it would be about 1/2 second different for everything..

Those mods against a stock S2000? Type R hands down. Stock they have been known to run 14.4-14.6's.

Stock for stock the S is a hair quicker but by no means is it a stomping -- I ran against my own S2000 in a friends Type R a few weeks back from a 5mph punch and lost about 1/4 car or so per gear (1-2).

in my 1997 Type R, I ran against my dad's S2000 and he beat me in every race by a car legnth - to three. We did all runs from a roll of at least 15mph up to about 90mph each time.

If it was a dragstrip start, the S2000 will beat the shit of fwd hopping. I could not launch my type r above 3000-4000rpm without it just spinning and hopping... i suppose if you could slip the clutch perfectly.?

13.98 in my S2000.... I cannot imagine any stock type R even close to that.

i pretty much agree with what you guys said.

Every time I have raced a stock type r from a low speed roll to about 70 it has been fairly close.

70+ an S2000 will win pretty easily every time.

Although a type R owner on this board that goes by the name of DC2specr has exhaust, intake cam gears and power FC computer and pulls 13.5 on the 1/4.

Also a friend of mine has a type R withthe same mods as DC2specr as well as cams and no rear seat and I can tell you that his car hauls ass in a straight line. Also it is a weapon on he track as it has a stiffening cage, coil overs, and semi slick rubber.

14 Flat? There have been R's essentially stock to match that.

In my experience, its not a close match if the S is launched well. My friend, who is a great auto-x and track driver, did fairly consistent 14.6s at 96 in his R (AEM CAI). I would do consistent 14.9s at 94 in my old GSR (ITR cams, cam gears, ICEMAN, RA1's).
And although I have not brought my S to the strip, my understanding is that it should do about 14 flat. Now, sure some strips are faster than others, and I am not doubting the 14 flats they are claiming, but on the same strip, my bets are that the S beats the R by at least half a second.... Love those ITR's though....sssoooo much fun on a track!

Whats the absolute fastest stock S2000 time anyone has seen? 13.5 anyone?
