Bingo Biobanker :-)

All inconsistencies aside (launch, track, driver, etc.), the S2000 is definitely quicker by a fair margin. The average hp difference between the two cars on the dyno is nearly 40 hp (about what you'd expect). 160-165 or so for an ITR and 200 for an S2K. That's 25% more power. The ITR is lighter, but not by more than 10%.

My old GS-R pulled several lengths on stock ITRs in a straight line, and my S2K is quicker still than that. 3-4 mph in trap speed differential is a walk away at pretty good clip.

Steve, have you dyno'd your S2K? Sounds like its a little down on power...

No I have not, it may be -- but then remember this was from a roll not a stop. Withuot a good launch the S2000 is nearly a 7 second to 60 car.

I think the half second or so theory is about right --- still in my book that is not an ass stomping, maybe a car or two to 80 or so. It's odd though my ITR (gone now ) always *felt* as quick or quicker than my S2000.

I raced 2 type R's at the street races this year. One with I/E. The other with I/H/E and cam gears and VAFC.

I walked the first one pretty good.

the other I got off the launch by about a car lenth or two. Though he hung in there well, I was still slowly walking him the whole way. By 100mph I had about 4 lengths on him.

Pull about 3-6 lengths from a 25mph to 120 mph roll, done it many times.

Lets say a midly modded (I/H/E, mild cams, tuning) against a stock or bolt on S2k?
An ITR with SMS header, injen intake, SMS exhaust, skunk2s and some tuning will beat an S2k hands down. If you know how to properly set one up, mods take this car a very long way. Especially since it's so damn light. If you go out and buy some DC sports headers and some toda B spec cams and some other half assed parts than the S2000 should have the edge.

Its funny smoking the Type Rs. Most Type R drivers are soo cocky. I like blowing the doors off them in my GTi.

You mean the bloated pig they call a GTI these days that runs damn near 16's stock?

-Steve (who wishes they made a modern comparitive to his 87 GTI, oh wait they do, it's an ITR).

Yeah, a lot of those young kids in the type Rs are cocky. I have respect for the more mature owners who don't have their head in the sky.

I guess they aren't much.
