impossible kills
Rocks:
Watching street racing in San Jose is easy when you fly there for business trips every other week. Also, watching Camaro's beat rice is pretty easy too...it happens all the time! Sorry, but displacement some times does win.
As for actual driving, as I mentioned in my last reply to you: put me behind the wheel of any of the cars I've listed and we'll see who wins.

BostonS2K,
You should be a little more careful offering broad generalizations. There are often surrounding circumstances that could shed a different light on some of these situations. I have personally had very close races with 600 CC sportbikes at highway speeds that were VERY close. It was a ZX-6R and I'm guessing that his bike needed a bit of tuning, but the point is, it was a close race that happened when my car was stock. Not all Supra TT's are mindblowing fast, I have beaten two recently and neither of them were very close. Granted my car is turbocharged but that's one of those 'surround circumstances' that I was referring to. Not trying to start a flame here, just saying that you should have the whole story before you start posting generalizations. On a side note, a good friend of mine just bought a 99 F1 360 Modena and as soon as he gets use to it, I plan to add him to my kills list.
By the way, the SLK 320 is a joke, doesn't performance much different than the 230.

Yes, I agree there are surrounding circumstances which will severely affect the outcome of a race. A bad engine in a sportbike, an incompetent driver, a turbo charger
, all add to the mix in the real world. Please look at my original post though, and you'll see what I'm trying to say.
Also, again, the SLK320 is NOT what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the AMG SLK32. 354 HP and 331 ft/lbs of torque.

Actually, it wasn't in top condition. The guy was antogonizing me for about a mile before I finally decided to give it a go. I've been riding sport bikes for a long time (relative I know) and there aren't many cars that will give my R1 much of a problem, which is exactly the reason I had no interest in racing a bike at first. I think with all the media hype surrounding the S2000, alot of people just want to see what the car is a capable of.
BostonS2k,
I was under the impression that all AMG cars carried the '55' number designation(aside from the C32), I could be mistaken on that but that's where the comment on the SLK 320 came from. I have a neighbor that's and elderly woman with a SLK 320 and she's always trying me when I see here around town. I know she's just having some fun, but it's always the same result. She jumps me off the line ( I don't like to launch my car) then I reel her in and spit her out. I agree with your original point. I am in agreement that there are some pretty far fetched stories but sometimes, we don't know the whole story and some important facts have been left out that turn the tables a bit.

well then, what's the point? that C&D say the m3 goes this fast and the s2k goes that fast? not interesting. all that shows you can read numbers in a magazine.
the real point is that the s2k rocks (like my name), and it can take on a m3 or viper or porsche or most of the other cars on your list because most ferrari owners just bought it because their rich and have no clue how to drive.

The new AMG models are 2002 model year. Do a quick search on yahoo for SLK 32 AMG, C32 AMG, to pull up some articles on them. The "55" engines are naturally aspirated V8s found in the CLK 55, E55, ML55, CL55, S55. The SLK32 and C32 engines are 320 engines with superchargers.

Hey Rocky,
I think you may have been hit in the head too many times. Please re-read my posts from beginning to end.
It sounds like you're just targeting the drivers now. It's true that a lot of people who can afford Ferraris or Porsches are older and probably wiser, so they don't find a need to race a stupid punk in a Honda to prove himself.
Just because a person in a Ferrari doesn't race you to the point of insanity on a public road doesn't mean you beat him. Now please go take your medication before you hurt yourself.

Boston: "You also missed my point...the driver of the M3 you so handily beat probably did suck (as integrate points out), but it's still nothing to brag about. "
Such an interesting statement to make. Its funny reading these thread. You see Boston, you achknowledge driver skill, but lend no credit to it. Why do you take such offense to someone saying they beat a corvette or a mustang etc...
Scenerio:
I am a racecar driver. My s2k comes in first beating out some corvettes etc... By your logic, I shouldnt celebrate my victory or "brag about it" because those cars "should" have beaten me. But the fact remains that they didnt. Using driver skill and a "slower" car, I won.
WHO CARES ABOUT THE NUMBERS A CAR PUTS UP. IT DOESNT MATTER. IT ALL COMES DOWN TO DRIVER SKILL. Even when you have evenly matched drivers, as you have stated many many times, the car might not be performing great that day. Then the driver is not the issue. Im not saying that if someone comes to the board saying their s2k beat an F1 car you should believe them. I am saying give some people a little credit. If an s2k beats a corvette, dont just assume that its bs just because of the so called numbers. Cars have bad days too, just like drivers. I have beaten many "faster" cars on the road. I have also lost to many "faster" cars on the road. Just give me a break, you think we all own ford festivas and we are saying we can beat ferarris. The fact of the matter is that the other driver may have been trying to race, and still lost. We own a fast car. Give it some credit.
