Yea, everyone knows Z28s, SS's are quick, as well as a lot of other American muscle cars, but of course, you can do mods to any car and beat a lot of american muscle cars.

Elanderhorm,
A number of these "torque steering, ugly assed, hatchback civic, crx, integra" would rape you goin straight or turning. At Buttonwillow a few weeks ago, that fastest lap of the day was CRX. Just about every manufacturer is represented at one of these events too!
Not a flame, just think you should keep and open mind. I`m a Honda enthusiast and I enjoy meeting others no matter what they drive.

Thanks...flame away.
I also raced a 2001 Lotus Espirit and due to my perfect driving skills (launch, shifts, throttle action) I smoked him badly. He was back like 85 carlengths whenever I decided not to play with him anymore. He was crying.
I think this stupid thread wasted more space than any lying racing post or econo-box kills on this board. Thanks.
Certainly, each to their own elanderholm, but, like Ryan, I continue to find your statements to be a bit closed minded. You state that you don't want to limit your car or your ability to learn how to drive it. Well, RWD does limit your car in certain circumstances. And learning to drive well setup FWD or AWD cars would improve your driving ability as well. And it would teach you things about driving RWD too.
In terms of heritage, does that really matter? And to what degree? I'm assuming since you bought a Honda instead of a Porsche that it isn't that significant. And the CRX has a hell of a lot more racing heritage than the S2000 (and I suspect it will have more wins in competition, since races continue to be won each year by the model). But again, this is your choice and I really shouldn't pip you for it, but I think the heritage question is a valid one.
Perhaps you really ought to drive a well setup FWD car. It might surprise you how fun it is to drive them. After all, the poor RX7 guys in ITA can't seem to keep up with the CRXs, despite the fact they have RWD, a powerful rotary, etc. In a good FWD you can experience - understeer, oversteer, neutral drifts, power on oversteer (yes, you read that right) and understeer, trailing throttle or braking oversteer, etc. Short of lighting up the rear tires from a stop or doing more than one donut consecutively (in a forward gear), you can do it all. And saving a lurid slide by mashing the gas is kind of cool too. Oh, and with equal length axles, torque steer is pretty much banished.
All in good fun. And its o.k. to like RWD better, just be clear on whether or not those things actually make for a better car.

The "torque steering, ugly assed, hatchback civic, crx, integra" was tongue in cheek, but with that said....I'm not a honda enthusiast...so we can agree to disagree.
