On my way home today on 680 north bound here in the bay area (California) I was cursing at 70 MPH then this mustang gt (not the new one.. probably a 96++) was ahead of me.. he looks at me as I came closer then down shifts and guns it right when I got to my speed speed (he was doing 65 I guess.. since I wants too fast when I got near him).. so from 6th.. I went to 5th then 4th in rapid succession.. ... and the mustang just stood there... it looked like it got caught in a time freeze.... I shot out like a bullet.. then I slowed down.. driver doesn't look at me and looks away.. passenger gives me a thumbs up, I give him a thumbs up... then they exited on the first exit.. Stupid driver.. not even acknowledging he lost..

 

Congrats on the kill, but I do find sometimes that win or lose I can't look over immediately because of traffic conditions, in those instances I usally at least wave...

I'm not finding Mustang GT's to be much of a challenge myself unless they've been modified which I think JC Whitney has a whole catalog of modifications just for the Mustang...

 

Interesting kill story.

 

I was crossing a bridge one late afternoon, there was very little traffic, I was at 68 in 6th. I passed an older GT it was an 85, (no third brake light) and a friend of mine has the same model year and body style. it was the 5.0 H.O. I was minding my own business, he had to be going 50, and he was young so as maybe to let me catch up so he wanted to race.

I just raced while still in 6th gear, he didn't pull but it was close as I was in (what I call Civic mode) just cruising. he passed me (I let him) as I eased off and back from 88 down to 60, he slowed down too, and gave me the big thumbs down and that stupid smirk on his face. Then he gave me the finger, I slowed down to 50 or so in 3rd gear. He did too, I see and hear him punch it.

I nailed the revs just right, while still in third I let him get ahead by a car length, then I was right on his rear gaining on his GT.
I shifted into 4th and passing him quickly and he could hear the scream of VTEC and my HKS exhaust. when I hit 5th I was 3-4 car lenghts in front of him. I tried to shut down as I slowed he came up and was yelling at me, I was thinking dude... "I just spanked you" badly... I don't want to play anymore go away.

He kept trying, so I just dropped the hammer again and he did too, for a spit second we were even after that I blasted up to 128-130 he was so far behind that I could not see him. I slowed down to 50-60 or so and waited, he finally cought up and would not look over at me.
