last nite.
i just got a call, reminding me to post all of the events of last nite. it was so extensive, that im just not up to typing out all of my races.
but i will post that im bigtime into real street cars, true street, wild street, and outlaw street. if it has steel doors and pulls the front wheels on small tires, im there.
if you follow psca, youll know who artis houston is. he took his 70 nova out last nite, and proceeded to break, and then rebreak the world record in wild street. 8.27 @167 mph. in the blue 70 nova. the first record breaking pass, is now my favorite pass to this day, he launched the car and it looked like he didnt spray, then nudged it into 2nd, and sprayed the shit out of it, and at about the 75 ft mark, when he hit 2nd and sprayed all at once, the car lifted the front wheels about 2 feet, and then slowly came back down over the next 100 feet. it was the
ing baddest pass ive seen in a long time, we were laughing so hard we were in tears as we clapped our way all the way down to his pit to shake hands. man what a run. then he comes out and not only backs that run up, but snaps it off. man what a ride. nitrous is all i have to say.
some of the other sweet runs of the nite included the battle for top spot between, ed thornton's 57 chevy BBC twin turbo, and clint hairston's 72 camaro SBC twin turbo. the thornton/tecklenberg bel air has been in the top spot for 3 years or so, with mid to low 6s, 223 mph runs. no one can knock them out of that spot. but hairston gave him one hell of a scare. clicked off several 218 mph passes. in the final, they were both about 10 mph off, but the bel air took it home. and stays in the top spot.
