I ran newer one (not sure what year, but it had the new-style wheels) a couple nights ago. We were on the highway and did three rolling starts...50-12X
He had one passenger and I was alone with the top down. I took off first all three times (he wouldn't go first for some reason) and the runs went like this:
1. After my jump he started gaining on me very slowly and we shut down around 110 with him right on my tail
2. This time we were dead even to about 90, then had to shut down for traffic
3. This time he gave me a big jump (showoff )and never really made up the deficit. I wasn't pulling on him and he wasn't catching up. I shut down after I hit 120 something.
After all three runs, I ended up in the front, so I am the winner

A 01+ Lightning is capable of running low 13's...just because Ford claims 13.8 does it mean it cant go faster???
A properly driven Lightning will beat a properly driven S2k 10 out of 10 times...it usually runs .5 faster. You guys trap at around 97-99 a Lightning around 101-103. If it sits their and spins then yeah the S2K will be able to get away...but lets face the facts you beat the driver not the vehicle.
Before the bashing begins..I like S2K's BUT theirs a line to draw, just like a stock LS1 will beat a stock Lightning the majority of the time.

LOL...I have the Lightning midly modified, but its just got the point where if I wanted to go any faster it would take too much and wasnt worth it unless I rolled around with ET Streets, So it is now my Daily Driver, its fast and reliable, now the Cobra well thats my toy...so you can bet theirs all kinds of tricks on that
