It has the biggest cone filter I've ever seen. The previous owner claimed that it gave me 15 hp extra. I don't know if it's that much, but it has to help. You can hear it sucking air. I'm going to be getting a hks exhaust soon. That should help.
ur intake gave u if ur lucky 2 whp and the hks exhaust will net u 0 whp

How would it only give me 2? And you don't expect me to get any from the exhaust? Explain please?

Well, I guess you are new here. See, we have lots of haters here, pretty much whatever you post in street encounters will be over scrutinized regardless of how plausible. And don

It amazes me how many people buy s2000's without knowing anything about cars in general. If you beat a supercharged v8 firebird then it wasn't a firebird at all, it was a trans am or a formula, which can beat an s2000 stock for stock if neither car has been ragged too hard, and both have good drivers. If you ran upon a supercharged "trans am" then he absolutely let you win. Yes, a cold air intake on you car will more than likely only give you probably around 2-4 horsepower if you're lucky. If you're not lucky, then you might even have less then you did with the stock intake. The s2000 engine is one of the hardest engines to wring any extra power out of with just bolt-ons. Mine is completely stock, but I do have a friend that has cai, and complete exhaust and we are still dead even when we race. His hp no's at the wheels are actually less than mine. If you want any substantial increase better go with FI.

Do some research in the Modifications forum and the NA Power forum. There is not much you can do to make more power on the s2k. It is pretty much maxed from the factory.

Your best mod with an 01 is tuning...VAFC or stand alone ECU like AEM EMS.

But these are questions for a different forum.

yeah... an aem ems is not at all worth it.

well over 2 grand total after tuning to gain a 20 or 30 midrange and 5-10 topend..

bah.

Welcome to S2Ki and Street Encounters and congrats on the run.

People will bash posts on SE when it seems a little (or a lot) too good to be true. Pulling a LT1 or LS1 supercharged car by 4+ lengths from any speed with a NA S2000 would fall into the above category.

That's not saying it didn't happen, lots of unexpected things happen on random street encounters. Just saying that the encounter does not imply this is what will happen every time the two cars are raced.
