Prove it! I've beaten 4 EVO's from highway rolls. BADLY. Don't know which years. None has kept up even 2 cars close. Especially after 80 mph

 

Must be nice to see stock EVO's. Figure a test pipe here and some boost there and things get WAY ugly so fast. I tached perfect against evodawg, launched, got him outa the hole by a car, car then was at 5 grand, by the end of second he pulled 3 cars. Damn, second in those doesn't even get you to 60. Much faster than the beloved Subaru STI. Which is surprising considering what you read in the magzines. But, we all know real life is different than theory.

 

ive anihhilated every s2k ive come across in my evo. From any speed, they always lose badly.

from a stop it's even worse, something like 10 or more cars every time.

 

Shrug why would i lie? I've been a member here for the longest time. I love driving my s2000 even more than my evo. My brother has a stock 05 evo (jojipoji)....it is DEAD even with my 03 evo at ALL speeds with MBC (21psi), turbo back, and reflash. My 03 evo absolutely TROUNCES my brothers old 01 berlina (with intake and vafc) and my CURRENT 02 sebring (stock). If you go to evolutionm.net you will see that 05's dyno and do the 1/4 with better numbers than 03-04's. The 05's have upgraded 10.5 hotside, better wastegate, and remapped ecu (there is no more fall down at higher speeds), and finally many have seen their cars boosting 20-21 psi FROM THE FACTORY. So it isnt as far fetched as it seems. If you want i could go through the trouble of filming it for you, but i bet you would be the first to say that the race was thrown or that the s wasnt driven properly

P.S. I did race my brothers 05 in my 02 and i did loose by 2-3 car lengths at around 110

 

I don't know how you guys are able to walk a EVO from a roll. I used own a 02 S2k and sold for an 05 EVO and my evo is alot faster than my S was. I know 05 are significantly faster that 03/04 due to 10.5 hotside and other little minor things but evo should still pull on the S2000. I ran my car at 13.2 @ 104 bone stock EVO and ran my S 14.4 @ 99 in my bone stock S2k. Well I guess anything can happen in street/highway race.

 

it must be nice to see stock Evo to race because I added over 60whp for $1500 worth of mods. from 251 whp 256 tq to 312 whp and 314 tq.

 

ive added 100 whp with the same amount of money in mods.

 

Trust me, when my 03 evo was stock I raced my bro's 2001 s2000 (he had one too) and he would consistantly beat me at higher speeds. The 05's are significantly quicker at higher speeds than the 03-04's........the 03/04 cars just run out of steam up top.

the hp difference between the 03 and 05's is barely anything, its something like 8-9 hp. they both have the same boost taper near redline, really not much of a difference.

 

Are you saying that there isnt much difference b/w a 9.8 hotside with a 10.5 hotside?!?!?! that's like 15-20 WHP!

No offense but you have no idea what you are talking about. Cars are often underrated from the factory! I HAVE an 03 evo (buschur tbe, mbc, and reflash) and 2002 s2000, my brother HAS an 05 evo STOCK! We have raced many times (and we have switched cars). The evidence is CLEAR as day based not only on my experiences but OTHERS as well! I estimate there is about a 20-30 WHP difference b/w the 2 cars.
