My '04 S2000 vs '03 s2000
Well My friend just got a '03 s2k, and of course we had to see just what the difference was between the 8k redline and the 9k redline. Well, i'll start by saying my rear tires have no tread on them but i ran anyways to see where i stood with the '03. Our first race, we get honked off and i dump the clutch at about 5500 and go absolutely no where lol.....it spins to hell all of first and the '03 takes off getting about 1 1/2 car ahead although i should have just let off i try to get back in it.....He ends up beating me by about 1 1/2 cars. He takes the win and i honorably take the loss knowing this isn't over yet :banghead : . Well he follows me home and we end up stopping again for a second race......might i add he just bought tires bout a week ago so he has no problem off the line. We stop and get honked off again, this time my gameplan is to let him take the jump and just focus on not spinning through all of first. So i rev to about 4500 this time confident this is my race, we jump and he automatically pulls 1 car which is what i expected well i top 1st and i pull a little closer to him then powershift into 2nd and shoot a little further closer by second i am bumper to bumper with him and pulling further ahead, when i hit third he is at my door and i Hear his 9k screaming to take the lead job but the quarter finishes and it ends with me winning by a little more than half a car. I have to say i was very surprised at the top end of the 9k rev limit its insane. But the 8k sure showed the Low end that i knew could beat him if i didn't spin......all in all i love the s2k and i actually like the '03 and down models with 9k, they are fun......but i have to say the '04 and up, rpm drop to 8k really showed the low end promised and brought me back to win the race WITH NO TIRES. (By the way both s2k's were stock)
I Love My S2k.

race him from a roll next time and you'll eliminate driver error off the line (and tire wear shouldnt be much of a problem either)
rolling @ 45 mph would be a perfect place to start.

Well if i had tires 5500 would have been no problem for the s2k........so it wasn't much that it was driver error but my tires caused me to take another look at it when your spinning your not advancing foward..... so if wanted to take him with no tires i had to not spin and let the added torque of the AP2 bring me strong out the dig. And just like i thought it would it did. but i can't expect that to save me all the time so tires will need to come very soon.....as a matter a fact im considering parking my car till i get tires cause they look pretty damn bad......on first gear as soon as VTEC engages my rear tires break loose and it almost feels like my clutch slips from 6 to 8k but its really my tires spinning loose and hitting rev limiter.

I think even from the roll it is a driver's race. On the S2000...missing the shift point by 100rpms and quickly shifting into gear can signify 1/2 car...do that 4 times and you already have a couple of cars advantage.
I would like to see a race of a bone stock AP1 vs an AP2...both with about the same amount of miles and driven like life depended on it...I think they would be dead even...imo.
