I had an encounter with a Honda Prelude the other day. It had decals on the trunk that said VTEC and Type SH. Is this a fast car? How does it compare to an S2000?

Yes, that is the top of the line Prelude. The Sh has the 4 wheel sterring and the 200 hp engine. It is still slower than the S2000 by a substantial margin, I believe it is a high 14 sec car.

The car has SH system (meaning special handling)... its a mode of limited slip for the front drive car.

 

I've heard of a couple of Preludes breaking into 14s with just intake.

 

Fastest time slip I've seen for a stock prelude is 14.7.

 

it has ATTS...which is what 4igs was describing. ppl range anywhere from HIGH 14s to mid 15s....

 

oh and an s2k would rape my lude any day =-(

 

I have seen runs from 14.8 to 15.6 so I'll say high 14's. It's like when S2000 owners say they have seen 13.8 to 14.5's in their cars, they say the S2000 will run high 13's. You just take the best times. Either way the S2000 is faster.

 

An S2000 will beat a prelude, no problem. Just know how to drive the S2000.
