Default Ran a C5.

Today i experienced the most belligerent driver in my experience (in terms of wanting to race). I rarely run into encounters (which is why i tend to post them). Lately since ive stopped looking, its been mostly others engaging me.

In going home after taking my parents out to dinner, and i see behind me a black convertible C5 Corvette...no biggie, im my experience only older women who think Vettes are hot and older males who loved musclecars when they were young own em.

Lo and behold, he gets on my ass, so close i cannot see his headlights There was a car in the right lane (this was a 2 lane road which is usually heavily congested, so definitely not a slower cars keep right situation). He is so eager to line up he whipes into the right lane to get abreat of me, inches from a car in front of him...i honestly thought he might hit that car he was getting so close.

So now im interested...only because, frankly, i never run into fast cars. He gets back into the left lane, again inches from my bumper (by this time ive ascertained he is a young-ish male). I see that the road has opened up...im doing ~30mph in 2nd (well, i was at 3k which is all that matters to the T28).

I go WOT, boost needle nails 21psi. He follows. From 30-100mph (at which time i let off) i put about 3 car-lengths on him. I come up on traffic...and slow down. Now he is **pissed** Once again he is on my butt, we pass traffic, and the road opens up again, and after a moment (to kinda let him know the road is open) i hit WOT again, squirting up to 100mph...and once again he fades back about 3 lenghts from the mere inches of before.

At the 3rd light he gets in the right lane (traffic in front of us). He stares at my car (or perhaps me...dunno), then whips over into the right turn lane and peels away.

To say the experience was cool would be an understatement.

Oh earlier in the day i had a white Mustang GT, female driven, with "hot wheels" stickers on its rear windows run me. Not pretty. They sound nice, but stock, are awfully slow. easy 3 lengths at end of first with the good holeshot...but i did get the ricer flyby from her. And before you ask, she was awful looking!

2 races and a nice 3 hour detailing session in 67 degree weather...not a bad way to spend a Sunday.

The above was far more enjoyable than yesterday, where a white Camaro SS mercilessly harassed my Miata for an half hour, damn i need to get a blower for it Murphy's law definitely applies to my cars...i get S4s, Camaros, Trans Ams and BMW all over the Miata, while the Audi gets the occasional Stratus :/

Saw a white S2K (my favorite color) on Ogden late tonight...wanted to make it 3 for 3 but he/she was going the other way

BTW i want to use that "rev to 9k" emote but considering my 1.8T experiences valve float at 7400rpm, not gonna happen

Cheers

Sounds fun. I hate it when people tailgate.

I have to admit, I tend to tap my brakes to get them off. If they don't, I actually slow down. If that doesn't work, I brake hard. If they're going to be stupid, let them pay for it. I can always use a new paint job on the back of my car.

I can't stand tailgaters and my I4 Honda Accord can't usually beat them....so I figure, if you can't beat them, brake (break) them.

I belive iceple is referring to turbo kits available for the Miata under the Flyin Miata brand name. Maybe he means a stage 2 or stage 3 kit.
