A stock LS1 would leave a stock S behind. I've raced with an LT1 (manual) before and we were fairly even.

It was definately a LT1. I have a 3 friends that own Camaros 1993 Z28 1999 Z28 , 2000 SS.

The late 2000 SS model has a Corvette cam in it from the factory because they ran out of cams for Camaro. I have seen that thing bone stock throw down 330RWHP.

The 1999 Z28 put down 286 completly stock

The 1993 Z28 put down 248 completely stock

you must have raced the Older LT1 Z28 model because the newer versions could have been in 5th gear and still pulled on you. I have raced all 3 of them and the only one I pull on is the 1993 because of its weight.

those are really good numbers. 248whp from a 275hp car is amazing. i'm sure at the crank it's higher than 275.
a couple of my friends used to have lt1 camaros and they 'seemed' faster than our car but the torque always makes a car 'seem' faster.

the ls1's are definitely faster than our car.

interesting info about your friend's SS camaro...i wonder how they could run out of cams? only one per engine right?

aesthetics are a personal issue. IMHO, the interior of almost all Hondas and Acuras are far more Fisher Price and poorly designed than any Camaro or Vette, but anyone who disagrees is entitled to their opinion. They just aren't entitled to denigrate anyone who disagrees.
i'm not a honda fanny but i do disagree with you about the honda vs. camaro and transam interior. granted those cars were designed in the early nineties so they have a pretty good excuse. i will say that the interior in the f-bodies were a lot nicer than the mustang and i'm a fan of both.
