Makes sense now. The S2k girl had momentum, which the evo was unable to reverse.

I hate it when people always point out "Oooh it's a girl! And she's asian! There ain't no way in h*ll she can drive!" Does it make you feel like you're a real macho guy to put others down, especially girls?

At any rate, I think the most important thing is that I do recognize the Evo could beat the pants off of my car IF the driver is competent. He was definitely trying to catch me and I just happened to outrun him. I drove all out and maybe the other driver didn't realize that he hadn't topped his car out. Is that so hard to believe?

Seriously, in the real world, there is no way I'd pick on an Evo. I only decided to give it a try that night because I was a little upset that he was trying to pick a fight with me.

And maybe LIL RAJA was right. Maybe he saw me, a girl, driving the S2000 and decided I wouldn't give him a good fight. Once he saw me passing him, though, I knew he was surprised and definitely didn't want to get passed by a girl, hence the whine of his engine.

Or maybe he bought a brand new Lancer and sunk a lot of money in to make it look like the Evo... complete with Evolution badges.

Well, mabye it was a race maybe it wasn't.
maybe he just like to drive a little aggressive but not race.
Maybe minako just won fair and square. It's not impossible that he mis-shifted or didn't have the skills to drive. We are giving the Evo more credit than it's due. After all the s2000 is no joke. I have raced M3s (which supposedly does 0-60 best time of 4.5 and 4.7 on most mag) and when I raced the M3 from stand still to 100 my nose was up at his door.

It's time to get a new boyfriend who knows cars. Racing an Evo at a light, starts with a turn, with your S2K? You won, the Evo must have let off after the turn.

 

I read the Evo thread and even though the stories are similar, they are not the same. He says I raised my hands in victory but ... I wouldn't do that while driving. I like to keep at least one hand on the wheel. ^^;

Carlson, my boyfriend knows cars. I think he was just trying to make me feel more confident ever since my accident. Even though the accident in my del Sol wasn't my fault, it really left me shaky and feeling like I couldn't drive the way I used to. My boyfriend was just trying to convince me that I am still as good a driver as I was before the accident.

xpander4, I've driven enough times to usually know when someone is picking on me and when someone just wants to drive fast. I know what you are talking about when people think you want to race because I typically drive very fast myself. Because of it, I get a lot of people wanting to pick fights with me.

Anyway, I posted on the Evo's board that if that WAS the guy who I saw on Friday, apologies to him for any misunderstanding. Heck I'll even buy him an ice cream if it's the same guy. But no racing against him! I never go around trying to prove that my car is something special. I just drive the way I wanna drive... and that's fast

 

Here's the bottomline:

Guy in EVO guns it > Girl in S2 takes it as a challenge, egged on by her boyfriend > EVO, who has slowed down, thinking a mere girl wouldn't take up the challenge, realizes that she DID bite > S2 passes slowed down EVO who then speeds up to try and prove his manhood > EVO couldn't make up lost ground.

He put himself at a disadvantage, AFTER he instigates, and realizing he is at a disadvantage, STILL attempts to "race". In this case, the "race" goes to the S2000 driver. In other words, she won this one.

Simple.

Even some of the board members over there recognize this.
